Sink that long putt

Sink that long puttMany people cannot gauge the correct power they should put behind the putter for long shots. They either overshoot or come up short.

Here’s a quick tip to help you better gauge your power. When you are faced with a long shot, walk towards the hole and walk half way between your ball and the hole. Take a few practice swings at this range taking note of your distance you draw back.

Many people feel more comfortable about the shot the closer they are to the hole. Using the feel for the swing you just practiced at half way, go back to your ball and just multiply or double the force.

Taking the approach this way turns a tough long shot into something logical that the brain can comprehend.
